Javed Ashiq, M.D., is a Board-Certified physician specializing in Critical Care, Pulmonary, and Internal Medicine with over 12 years of experience providing health care to patients of all ages. Dr. Ashiq performs care to patients involved with, but not limited to, asthma, pneumonia, tuberculosis, complicated chest infections and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, including emphysema.
He is also well experienced to perform advanced bronchoscopy procedures, like endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and navigation bronchoscopy. These procedures play a key role in diagnosing and staging lung cancer.
Dr. Ashiq received his medical degree in Pulmonary and Critical Care from Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, New York, along with his degree in Internal Medicine from Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, New York. Not only has Dr. Ashiq been honored with The Gold Medal in medical school, but he has served in various research initiatives, including but not limited to, Making Decisions on Lung Biopsy for Diffuse Parenchymal Lung Diseases, A Study of the Effects of Airway Pressure Release Ventilation (APRV) on Ventilator Induced Injury (VILI) as Measured by Cytokine Levels and Cardio-Respiratory Parameters, among others.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Ashiq enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters along with photography, watching movies, and outdoor sports.
